What to do in case of a fracture?

In the presence of a fractured limb, the immediate intervention should limit the animal’s movements pending reaching the veterinarian.

The fractured limb must be handled with extreme care. Avoid pulling or twisting it, or worse try to put the bony stumps back in the correct position.

The damaged part must be protected with cotton, bandages, or newspapers where to place rigid supports such as wooden slats or cardboard that must be fixed with a patch.
