How to diagnose a fracture?

Fractures to the limbs occur as a result of accidents or mistreatment. The dog or cat cannot support the fractured limb that appears inert and most of the time swollen and deformed.
Fractures can be of two types: “closed” or “open”. In the first case, the skin and tissues above the fractured bone are intact, while in the second they are torn and the two bone stumps appear on the outside.
